Umm, did I really just dress up my blender? And document it? |
About a year and a half ago, I was debating the purchase of a Vitamix. Because of the hefty price tag, I thought about it for around five months before taking the plunge. Initially, I felt like a freak buying a $549 blender. (TH still doesn't know how much she cost.) Now I don't know how I lived without her! She makes my morning smoothie every day,
and from there things just get crazy.
Dressings, sauces, soups, nut milks, ice creams, cheezes, puddings, frostings, cheezecakes, whipped creams, sorbets, dips, curries; everything comes out creamy-dreamy. I expect to grow old with Viv and TH, and I think even he would agree that she was worth every last penny.
Happy Birthday, Vivian!
Vitamix inventors: you rock.
Question: Do you have a Vitamix? If so, do you think it was worth the price?
Great photo montage--and I agree completely. I finally got a Vitamix last summer, having been into raw foods for years, having worked as a chef and used other peoples' machines, but never having owned one. Even preparing mostly for myself, it's awesome, and when I'm fixing for a crowd, it seriously rules.
ReplyDeleteviv looks dashing in her bday suit!=)
ReplyDeletei have a vitamix and i also felt crazy spending so much for it. it's a must have for raw desserts - my old blender was fine for everything else but breaking down irish moss and cashews. my vitamix cracked on the top but they sent a new one right away. we had to take it apart and put the new shell on without directions, which was kind of frustrating, but i don't regret my purchase.
love the photo of all your creations!
you are so lucky. No Vitamix here yet. I am still deciding on which high speed blender to get. It is between the Omni, Blendtec and Vitamix.
ReplyDeletePeace and Happy Blending,
E
@Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteThat's a tough choice, Elizabeth! I didn't know anything about the Omni or the Blentec when I purchased Viv, otherwise my decision may have been harder. I've had no second thoughts about the Vitamix, though.
@Ela
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about the crowd factor. I'm always amazed by how much I can stuff in the carafe.
@kelli
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear about your customer service experience, Kelli. I'm impressed you were able to figure out the shell without instructions.
