Clean and Green

This morning on rising I drank a glass of warm water with lemon and cayenne, per Crazy Sexy Diet recommendation.  While the taste was fun, it gave me a very tickly throat and made my empty stomach a tad uneasy.  Does anyone drink this concoction joyfully?

Meals today looked very familiar.

Breakfast
Smoothie,  not nuclear waste.

Lunch
I mixed things up a bit.

zucchini noodles, Delightfully Raw tomato sauce, Brazil nut parmesan

Snack #1

Snack #2

Satay Kale Chips
2 head kale, deveined and cut into bite sized pieces
3/4 cup almond butter
2 dates
1/2 squeezed lemon
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp nama shoyu
2 tbsp coconut oil
1/4 cup water
couple shakes of red pepper flakes

Blend above ingredients until creamy and then massage into the kale pieces.  Spread pieces onto lined trays and dehydrate at 110 overnight, or until crispy.

Dinner

big bite of salad

Did you see all those green things I ate?  That makes me so haaaappppppy!

  1. everything looks delish! you're doing great!=)

i haven't tried the lemon cayenne water, but sometimes i do lemon water in the morning. my favorite way to start the day is with some kombucha, though i'm currently all out. the last batch got funky and i had to throw it out.=(

the kiddies i watch made me happy today. the 3 y/o said let's go outside for some vitamin d!(he's remembering what i teach him.=) he also ate one of my raw collard leaves and mock tuna and loved it. i'm loving all the green-eating going on!=)

  2. Those satay kale chips look yummy!

Yay for lots of greenie things--and so good for you!

What's making me happy today is a general feeling things being ready to move, and also the prospect of some good writing time.

Hi Kelli! I've often heard of kombucha going bad. Do you know how to prevent funkiness? I need to learn how to make it.

You must have so much fun with the kids. It sounds like you do an amazing job! They are very lucky to have you.

  5. Looks like you are eating like a raw food queen!! Keep it up. Isn't this lifestyle the best??!! I love it.
Today I was made happy when my 4 year ols asked me to make a green melon smoothie. So I did of course b/c we start everyday with a green one and we all sipped happily.
I like to guzzle a big glass of lemon water right when I wake up too, never have added anything else.
    Peace and Raw Health,
    E

Elizabeth- It is so awesome that you are getting your kids hooked on a healthy lifestyle early! I think it is so important for growing bodies to have the appropriate fuel. I'm a teacher and I've been worried over the years by the increasing amounts of processed junk kids bring to school to eat. It makes me so sad that many children don't have the opportunity to learn about healthy food options at home.
